Meet Amanda

Those living with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) often require constant supervision and ongoing lifelong interventions. Given the rarity of PWS, however, programs and facilities dedicated to providing specialized supports are often hard to find. This reality inspired Mainstay Life Services to create a safe and supportive environment solely for those with PWS so they can live life to the fullest.

Ask Amanda, a bright, outgoing young woman with PWS who benefits from living in a Mainstay home. Moving out of her parents’ house and into the tailored home was a significant step for both Amanda and her family, but they all knew it was the best way for Amanda to reach her goal of becoming more independent.

The home where Amanda now resides has been specifically designed to meet her unique needs. A specialized kitchen and a structured daily routine that includes planned meals and regular exercise has helped Amanda to face the lifelong challenges of living with PWS and gain better control of her life
