Mainstay Named a 2021 Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
At Mainstay Life Services, we strive to create a compassionate, respectful community for everyone we support. Those values sit at the heart of our mission and extend to our entire staff.
That’s why we are extremely proud to have been named a 2021 Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This is our seventh consecutive regional Top Workplace award. This year, we were also awarded with the Formal Training Culture Excellence award.
Without the dedicated work of our entire staff, neither of these honors would be possible. The Pittsburgh best places to work list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization.
“Mainstay always appreciates us, they certainly take care of their employees,” said Donna Hadix, who has been a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Mainstay for over 16 years.
We all know, to provide the highest level of care to the people we support, we must first care for our entire staff. These honors are especially resonant in the light of the pandemic, which forced our entire staff to shift their work style and double down on their safety efforts with the people we support. It continues to be a collective challenge for all of us and our staff meets that challenge with professionalism and poise.
Camilla Jamal, a DSP who joined our staff during the start of the pandemic in 2020 said, “The reason I wanted to work at Mainstay, and especially Mainstay, was the Top Workplace awards. Now I know why we won them, and I really enjoy working here.”
According to the Top Workplaces website, winners are selected because they prioritize a people-centered culture and give their employees a voice.
“Mainstay allows me to come up with activities and programs that I know the people I support will like,” Camilla said. “They give me the freedom to do what I need to do with the people I work with.”
Of course, in celebrating these honors, we’d be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge that company culture is born out of all levels of our team. From our DSPs, to management, to our behind-the-scenes office team, everyone on our staff has created this regionally and nationally recognized culture.
As our team continues to grow, we look forward to expanding this award winning work environment and hope to achieve Top Workplace status for years to come. We are always looking for dedicated and passionate employees interesting in joining our team and enriching the lives of those in our care.
