Mainstay Life Services Honors Direct Support Professional Recognition Week and Celebrates 2023 Top Workplace Award

By Kim Sonafelt, Chief Executive Officer

At Mainstay Life Services, people are the core of our mission. Every day, we support hundreds of people with intellectual disabilities and autism (ID/A). But none of it is made possible without our dedicated staff, and because of them, we have so much to celebrate!

This week (9/10 – 9/16) is Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week! The DSPs of Mainstay are so much more than caregivers. They are mentors, coaches, advocates, and the biggest champions of the people we work for. The DSPs are the glue of our organization and it’s a privilege that we get to celebrate them this week and every week.

No matter who you are or what your title is at Mainstay, each employee has one thing in common — they change lives. From our DSPs to our administrative personnel and every person in between…the Mainstay team is the reason for our organization’s continued success and growth, and I’m proud to call each person my colleague every single day.

I’m also very proud today to announce that with the help of our employees, we have been named a 2023 Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This award is based solely on employee feedback and comes at such a special time for our organization as we celebrate Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. It is such an honor to be named a 2023 Top Workplace.

We look forward to celebrating Direct Support Professional Recognition Week and the honor of being named a Top Workplace. To all our employees, thank you for your unwavering commitment to enriching lives and unlocking potential for the people we work for!

In gratitude,

Kim Sonafelt
CEO
