A Successful Day for Mainstay!

By Mikaela Narr, Mainstay’s Advancement & Engagement Intern
On Monday, June 23, Mainstay hosted the 18th Annual Charlie Ross Memorial Charity Golf Outing at The Club at Nevillewood. 113 golfers endured a hot summer day on the course, with temperatures in the 90s.

Before the shotgun start, participants enjoyed Mainstay Mimosas hosted by Mindful Kreative, a delicious lunch, and great company.

Throughout the day, golfers also showed off their skills in a variety of contests. Winners of the course competitions were:

After enjoying the blazing day on the course, the golfers and additional guests gathered in the Nevillewood ballroom where the fun, food, and fundraising continued. We are grateful to the duo Tullycavy who provided wonderful live music.

Our silent auction was a big hit, with fan-favorite items including a relaxing vacation to Garden City Beach, signed Steelers jerseys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins tickets, a private chef dining experience, and more!

During dinner, Mainstay honored the 2025 Enriching Lives and Unlocking Potential Award Winner – Steve McKelvey from Dad’s Pub & Grub. The award was established in 2024 in memory of Ron Chiurazzi and is given annually to an individual, group, or organization that enriches the lives and unlocks the potential of people with diverse abilities. Steve was recommended by our Employment Services team because of his commitment to providing opportunities for people with diverse abilities.

Big thanks to co-chairs Ryan Casciani and Janna Chiurazzi Young for leading the effort and making it another successful event. This year, the golf event grossed nearly $180,000!

Proceeds from the outing support the Irene and Dr. Walter Jacob Supplemental Needs Fund, helping us carry out our mission and empower the people we support to live their fullest lives.

A heartfelt thank you from all of us at Mainstay to everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success.

We look forward to seeing you again next year for the 19th Annual Charlie Ross Memorial Charity Golf Outing…
